Biography:

Spring Fever was a garage-charged Canadian power trio from Toronto, Ontario, who emerged in 1970 with a rare and now highly collectible LP titled Woodstock on Paragon Records. Featuring Paul James on vocals and guitar, Rick Law on bass and Hammond organ, and Frank Meehan on drums, the group delivered gritty, soulful covers of tracks by Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Taj Mahal, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, The Rolling Stones, and others—captured with crisp, straightforward production that spotlights their tight musicianship over studio excess.

The album’s only original track, the instrumental “Spring Fever,” is a hard-hitting jam driven by slide wah-wah guitar and a powerful rhythm section, standing out as the LP’s peak moment. Despite its inclusion in Hans Pokora’s Record Collector Dreams (with a three-star rarity rating), the album remains largely unknown. A limited German unofficial CD reissue surfaced in the 1990s, but Woodstock has never been reissued on vinyl. Today, it's considered one of the hardest Paragon LPs to obtain.
