Biography

Kenzie MacNeil (1952-2021) was a singer-songwriter, performer, producer, publisher, and proud Cape Bretoner, best known as composer of the song The Island, proclaimed the official anthem for Cape Breton Island in 1985. MacNeil was a founding member and artistic director/producer of the theatrical musical-sketch comedy productions The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island, 1977-1985.
