Stew Clayton, Canada's Singing Trail Rider, was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. He recorded 15 albums on Birchmount, Cynda, Sunshine and Frontier labels in the 1970's. This collection of mostly heavy Canadiana ballads was released in 1973 on Birchmount. The album features Stew Clayton on guitar and vocals; Bob Marginet on lead guitar; and his wife Marge Clayton on electronic organ & vocal harmony. Stew wrote 8 of the 10 tracks on this album. Stew was heavily influenced by Wilf Carter. My Canadian Home is a wonderful tribute to Canada; "The Canadian" is a heart-rending number about Canada's first Nations peoples.
