This between-albums EP is more like So Wound than Dreamcake -- Jale's sound is more driven and slightly more focused, with the same honest reflections and sometimes bitter observations. The band experiments with a few bluesy grooves but doesn't stray too far from its power pop sound. The sad and vulnerable "The Long Way Home" pays homage to the Beach Boys, while Closed's other four songs come close to pop perfection as well.
