Information/Write-up

Roy Penney was born in Corner Brook, NL and played guitar with Dick Nolan. He moved to Toronto in the late 1950's and was lead guitar player for Dick Nolan's Blue Valley Boys, the house band at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern from 1963-7. The readers of RPM Magazine voted him the top guitar player in Canada for three years in the late 1960's. He still performs in the Toronto area.
