THE J.J.’S
The J.J.’s are a group of musicians and singers active in the recording studios around Winnipeg. They do such things as vocal background jingles, station break I.D.’s, back up work to solo artists for television, radio and commercial recording projects. Basically, the same type of group as the Mutual Understanding. The members are Yvette Shaw, Karen Marklinger and Doreen Bingham (all soloists in their own right), lead singers Annis Kozub and Ron Halldorson. The musical director of the group, pianist/arranger Dave Jandrish also happens to be the President of the Winnipeg local of the A.F. of M.

BRIAN RUSSELL
Brian Russell is a very gifted 31 year-old musician who was born in Calcutta, India and moved to Canada with his family as a child. He has been studying music since 1955, especially the guitar, and won 6 Toronto music festivals in the early 60’s, all having been devoted to guitar work. His first exposure to professional music came with being part of a horn section in a folk rock group. This is his first try at arranging and, with Eric Robertson’s horn arrangements, some of the material on “set 40” just came to life for him.
What’s from same group? Russell is one instrument! Over the years he has been a member of Chick Corea’s backup, trio guitarist, and Eric Robertson on horn arrangements.
The session includes Bill Misner, Jim Morgan, Barry Keane, Brian Leonard, Dave Caldwell, Gary Morgan, and Bruce Cassidy.
