Information/Write-up

Released in January 1968 on Verve Forecast, "Think I Care" b/w "White Song" was The Paupers’ final single featuring their original core lineup. By this point, the band had shifted toward a heavier, more introspective sound, moving away from the pop leanings of their earlier releases. Recorded following their extensive U.S. touring, the single reflects the growing musical ambitions and tensions within the group. Although it did not chart, it stands as an important document of The Paupers’ transition toward a darker, more progressive style prior to their eventual breakup.

Adam Mitchell: vocals, rhythm guitar
Chuck Beal: lead guitar
Denny Gerrard: bass
Skip Prokop: drums
