Throughout this recording Bill Butler brilliantly displays the unique style and musicianship that has made him one of the country’s favorite pianists, in his capacity as pianist for the famed Lord Simcoe Hotel’s Pump Room, and from his consistent appearances on radio and television.
These twelve selections heard on this album highlight romance spiced liberally with nostalgia. Who will ever forget the romantic theme music from the motion picture “Laura”, or the haunting Victor Young composition “Stella By Starlight”; the tenderness borrowed from the classics in Rachmaninoff’s “Story of Three Loves”.
The entire repertoire chosen for this album is indeed the music of romance … music bequeathed to the young and the young at heart for all time … interpreted so meaningfully by the Bill Butler Trio.
