Norman was a teacher and principal until he retired in 1977. He started his teaching career in various country schools before he accepted a position in Heward, SK in 1950. Here he met and married Phyllis McKinnon and they began raising their family. In 1957, he took a teaching position in Wawota for nine years, and then served as principal in Eatonia School from 1966 – 1977. He was a passionate Old Time Fiddler and a devoted Yankee and Maple Leafs fan. Norm passed away on June 9, 2013 at the age of 87.
