Ashley George

Ashley George was born in Halifax,N.S. and raised in Pictou, N.S. Since picking up the guitar at the age of 9, Ashley knew he wanted to be a musician. His ability to paint pictures with well written lyrics and his musicianship has led many people to become die-hard fans all across Canada.

Attending elementary school in Pictou, Ashley’s first band was started at the age 10 called the Radsters. He then started a band called Lucky 8 lines while in middle school. Smokers Cough was created while Ashley was attending high school at Pictou Academy. All of these bands were a foundation for his most successful band, Beyond Ash.

Beyond Ash has released three successful albums and is currently recording their fourth. Beyond Ash has shared the stage with groups such as Dr.Hook, Joel Plaskett, Wintersleep, Nazareth and Honeymoon Suite. The group was also recognized by being selected to attend the finals of the national Bodog battle of the bands competition in Toronto.

His first solo acoustic album, “Next Goal Wins”, is set to be released in August 2009. This album showcases his songwriting ability and is highly anticipated by his fans. Ashley is also playing lead guitar with Fleur Mainville’s band and they are now recording for their first album in Halifax.

When Ashley is not working or playing music, he enjoys skateboarding and spending time with his lovely wife Doreen who is expecting their first child.
