Artist / Band
Biography
MJM is the long-running solo and band project of Toronto guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Michael J. Miller, best known as a founding member of Rapid Tears and later Adrenalin. Developed as a vehicle for Miller’s post-1980s work, MJM carries forward the melodic hard rock and metal roots of those earlier bands while giving him greater freedom to shape the music on his own terms. By handling the lead vocals himself, Miller was able to avoid the instability that had come with relying on outside frontmen in earlier projects, allowing MJM to function as a more consistent and self-directed outlet for his songwriting. The project began with Ascension, followed by Valley Of The Kings, MJM Instrumental, and MJM IV, with later singles including ‘Live It Up’, a remix featuring Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, and ‘Ai New World Order’. The core lineup has featured Michael J. Miller on guitar and vocals, Zsolt Henczely on bass, Tom Eakin on drums, Stephany Dudas on backing vocals, with longtime production by Tom Atom.
