Biography
Jersey Little Sweet were a Toronto rock group formed around 1966. By 1971, the musicians had been playing together for approximately four and a half years when they came to the attention of singer, songwriter and producer Sebastian Agnello.
Agnello brought the group into Sound Canada Recording Centre in Toronto to record ‘Heaven On Their Minds’, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s song from the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. The session was engineered and co-produced by Ken Friesen, then presented to Ron Dykhof of Montor Records.
Montor released the recording in July 1971, backed with ‘Sally-Ann’, an original song written by Agnello and published through Turtle Shell Music. The single was promoted at the time as the first Canadian-content recording drawn from Jesus Christ Superstar and remains Jersey Little Sweet’s only known commercial release.
