Blackpool is a Vancouver based group, who have just released their first two singles, "Standing Over There" and "Secrets" on Silver Star Records, Halcaro Recordings, Surrey, B.C.

The name Blackpool is derived from seaside city on the west coast of England; with three of it's four members being born in northern England, the sound can only be described as British oriented.

The group originated in 1977 when Steve Atkinson and Ken McLeod formed a duo. They called themselves "Sterling". Next to join was drummer brad Baxter along with his long time friend, guitarist Stephen Gatt. The group then became known as "Blackpool".

Ken McLeod passed away in 2022 from cancer.
