Liner notes:
Nashville is, was, and always will be the mecca of country & western artists and fans. The Grand Ole Opry has been rolling along for 45 years now — bringing together people from all over the world with one common interest — a love of the music that reaches to one’s bosom — country. So it was only natural that Gary Buck, Canada’s most popular C & W vocalist, should make the pilgrimage to Nashville to record his third and finest album for Capitol. Gary’s been there before, but never with the kind of results contained inside this jacket.
“Wayward Woman Of The World,” the song about a soul gone astray — is Gary’s most recent hit — it quickly climbed to the No. 1 spot on Canada’s national survey. It’s really nothing new for Gary — in ’63 his “Happy to be Unhappy” topped the Billboard & Cashbox charts; the next two years he was voted “Top Country Singer” by readers of R.P.M. magazine. TV and live appearances occupied his time ’til 1966, when Gary once again stormed the scene with “Calgary, Alberta”; “Sorry About That Chief” & “Mr. Brown” — all three hitting the charts in both Canada — and U.S.A.
So here’s Gary once again, backed by the pros of Nashville, with the album that truly represents this great Canadian talent.
