About This Title

Les Pieds Fous emerged in Montréal in the mid-1960s, a direct evolution from the earlier Cléo-Mo outfit. The core lineup—Roger Bureau, Claude Franche, Doug Marshall, and Joe Scawsky—delivered a frisky blend of yé-yé pop-rock. In 1967, they released their first single, Ma vie and Près de toi, both French-language adaptations of Anglo hits (Neil Diamond and Blood, Sweat & Tears, respectively). The single was produced by Yves Martin and mastered by Émile Lépine under the Trans-Canada Musique Service umbrella.

A second 45 was issued in 1968 on the Carrousel label, Reviens, reviens vers moi backed with Fleur de mon cœur, showcasing a stronger francophone pop-rock sound.
