Cathie Taylor was a folk singer who was born in Winnipeg in 1944, Manitoba. Her family moved to California when she was a child. Her album, "Sings of the Land and The People" was her fourth album, and was released in 1964 on Reprise Records RS-6121. The tracks are: Sow Took the Measles/ Turn Around/ A-Round the Corner/ Ribbons Down My Back/ Tarrytown/ All My Trials // Charleston Town/ Rainbow Tree/ Squid Jiggin' Ground/ Ten Miles from Nowhere/ People Say/ Alberta Let Your Hair Hang Low.
In 1959, she made her first television appearance on "The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show. Many other television appearances followed. In 1961, she appeared on "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show. In 1962, Cathie appeared on "The Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Show" and "Western Hit Parade" where she performed "Buffalo Gals, "Down in the Valley", "Buttons and Bows", "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better". in 1963, she made an appearance on "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" and "Run for Doom" and "Hootenanny Hoot".
Cathie Taylor made an appearance on the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans show "National Horse Show from the Cow Palace in San Francisco" ith a group as "Cathie Taylor and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police." In 1963, she starred as a singer in the Alfred Hitchcock Hour feature "Run for Doom".
Cathie Taylor first album was "A Little Bit of Sweetness" released on Capitol T-1359 in 1960; "The Tree Near My House" on Capitol ST 1448 in 1961; "In Concert (at the Mon Ami)" on Mon Ami Records in 1962; and "The Sparrow" on House Top HTR-704.
