About This Title

Issued by Calgary’s PLP Records, this single was part of a short run of locally produced releases recorded at Sound West Studio, operated by Peter Bentley. The sessions brought together a circle of Calgary musicians and producers active in the city’s mid-’70s scene, including Doug Wong (producer, A&R, and later a key figure in Alberta’s music promotion circuit), Richard Harrow (engineer, musician, and two-time Juno Award winner), and Bruce Innes (frontman of the internationally known folk-country group The Original Caste). Reports from those involved indicate that noted guitarist Gaye Delorme—renowned for his session work, film scores, and hit songwriting—may have contributed parts during the recording. PLP was owned by Paul Palaschuk and relied on a small roster of regional artists, with distribution handled within Alberta.
