Notes
This CD is dedicated to my ‘Pa’ Lloyd Patrick Dolen. He is the one who taught me the ‘Cowboy Way’ and encouraged me to follow my dreams and never quit. Every time I step on stage I keep his memory alive within me.
The title of this CD is Songs of Sweat and Leather, a poem written by my Pa’s, the late Glen Rafuse. Glen was a mentor to me after the passing of my Pa. We miss him dearly.
A very special thank you goes out to Buddy Gale who wrote the songs Longhorn Legends, Trail Rider, and More to a Cowboy than Ride. Buddy is a great song writer and a great friend. ‘Diamond’ Doug Keith wrote an amazing poem which has become one of my favourite songs Born to Ride the West. Thanks Doug for allowing me to turn your great poem into a great song.
To Jim Peace and Graham Allen ‘Double Diamond’ – This CD would never have happened without you boys. I can’t say thank you enough. To ‘Sharky’ and Christine Schauer – Thank you for your support since my first gathering. You have a very special place in my heart. Thanks Sharky for adding colour where the CD needed it. You are an amazing couple.
To my Grandma Norma, my dad and step mom Jack and Helen Dolen, my mom Donna Dolen, my sons Lane and Jamie Dolen – I love you all dearly and thank you for supporting my dream. Last but definitely not least, I would like to thank my Pa’s friend George Kush. George is an amazing artist and historian. He and I are kindred spirits striving to keep the history and heritage of the ‘Cowboy’ alive. George drew the amazing artwork for this CD.
Happy Trails,
If you’d like, I can now tighten the production section once you confirm whether Dutch Creek Productions and Jim Peace are credited elsewhere on the packaging, as this panel does not show production credits explicitly.
