Liner notes
Not many people know that my home town is Sarnia, Ontario. Located at the top left corner of southwestern Ontario, it houses a huge petroleum refining industry as well as many related industries. Because of its national importance to the country, I am of course very proud of my city. But not this alone makes me as proud as the people of Sarnia who have been behind me boosting my efforts as an old time fiddle player.
Most important to me by all means, is my family. My dad, Ernie Joyce, my mom, Clara, and my sister, Denise. In this album I would like to express my thanks to my family, relatives, and to a number of great friends from my home town.
People like Ray Hill, Harvie Lovie, John Durocher, Gerry Mollitor, and many others too numerous to mention on the back of this cover.
The most unique aspect about this album is that almost every selection was originated in Sarnia or is familiar to the fiddlers of Sarnia.
In conclusion, I hope everyone will enjoy these ‘Hometown Specials’ as I know the special people from my hometown will.
