The French Vogue 12-inch issue, catalogue 310983, paired the full-length 4:22 version of ‘Soft Core’ with ‘Beautiful Girls’ and ‘Unschuld’.

A French Vogue 7-inch issue, catalogue 101779, paired ‘Soft Core’ with ‘Beautiful Girls’. The label identifies Jamie Bowers and Maurice & The Clichés as producers and Ian MacLennan as executive producer.

In the United States, RMS issued ‘Soft Core’ / ‘Beautiful Girls’ as catalogue RMSD-12002 in 1983. Both commercial and promotional 12-inch pressings are known. These contain the 4:22 version of ‘Soft Core’ and the 3:47 version of ‘Beautiful Girls’.

RMS also issued a U.S. promotional 7-inch, catalogue RMSS-7001, containing shorter edits:

‘Soft Core’: 2:57
‘Beautiful Girls’: 3:00

The promotional copies are marked PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE.

The U.S. RMS labels credit Dootes N’ Yockies Music (ASCAP) and Renlor Music (BMI). This physical-label spelling should take precedence over the “Renior Music” spelling appearing in some Discogs entries.

The U.S. 12-inch issues were mastered at Liberty, with ‘Beautiful Girls’ additionally carrying a Jeff Sanders / Kendun mastering credit.

The various releases therefore document at least two commercially circulated versions of ‘Soft Core’: the 2:57 edit and the 4:22 extended version. ‘Beautiful Girls’ likewise appears in at least 3:00 and 3:47 versions.
